A Christian mission is an organized effort to spread Christianity to new converts. When groups are sent, they are often called mission teams and they do mission trips. There are a few different kinds of mission trips: short-term, long-term, relational and those that simply help people in need. Some people choose to dedicate their whole lives to mission. Missionaries have the authority to preach the Christian faith and sometimes to administer sacraments , and provide humanitarian aid. Christian doctrines such as the “Doctrine of Love” professed by many missions permit the provision of aid without requiring religious conversion. Whether a Jewish proselytism existed or not that would have served as a model for the early Christians is unclear; see Circumcision controversy in early Christianity Jewish background for details. Soon, the expansion of the Christian mission beyond Judaism to those who were not Jewish became a contested issue, notably at the Council of Jerusalem.

Growing up as a conservative Southern Baptist, I was conditioned to believe that the purpose of dating is for marriage. You only date when you are ready and able to be married, and you only date people whom you would consider marrying.
Anything that detracts from your marriage potential, like a quirky personality, thick thighs or a too-loud laugh, decreases your value as a person.

In The Gambia, 90 percent of the population is Muslim, 10 percent is Catholic, and 2 percent claim indigenous beliefs. Less than 1 percent are evangelical Christians. According to the Joshua Project, there are still 17 unreached people groups in The Gambia, including the Wolof people. The Wolof language is wide-spread in The Gambia, with the majority of people groups in the country understanding it. Although the official language is English, in the interior, local languages are predominant.
As a result, evangelism must be done in the local language in order to be effective. Rural and urban ministries are done in the Wolof language, ministering to Muslims and indigenous speakers who have been unreached by the gospel.

Or so she thought, until she matched with a returned missionary who at first seemed successful and physically fit. His response made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up, and she immediately blocked his number. Later that night, she received calls from three random numbers — all of them him — and she blocked those too, and hoped that was the the end of it.
But days later, she received a message from an Instagram account from a guy claiming to live in her area. They exchanged a few messages and he asked her out. As she was still feeling skittish after her last experience, she agreed to meet in front of the safest place she could think of: the Laie Hawaii Temple.
When he showed up, she felt a chill go down her spine: it was the same guy from before — she realized he had tricked her into meeting by using a fake profile. She told him firmly to leave her alone, and returned home immediately.
